What types of cases do you handle?

AMG Legal focuses exclusively on civil rights and employment litigation on behalf of individuals. We handle claims involving race and national origin discrimination, sex and gender discrimination, pregnancy discrimination, age discrimination, disability discrimination, and retaliation for reporting or opposing unlawful workplace conduct. We also represent clients in First Amendment and free speech matters, as well as whistleblower claims.

Our cases are brought under federal and Michigan state law, including Title VII of the Civil Rights Act, the Age Discrimination in Employment Act (ADEA), the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), the Michigan Elliott-Larsen Civil Rights Act (ELCRA), the Pregnant Workers Fairness Act, and other applicable civil rights statutes.

We primarily represent individuals, not corporations.

Where will our meeting take place?

We offer the choice of a phone call or a Zoom meeting. All consultations are by appointment only.

We are unable to accept in-person walk-ins for immediate consultation.

What happens during a consultation?

During your consultation, an experienced attorney will listen to the details of your situation and provide an honest, expert assessment of your potential legal claims, the applicable law, and your rights. We will answer your questions and explore your goals. You will leave with a clear understanding of where you stand, what your options are, and what the legal process looks like, so you can make an informed decision about how to move forward. There is no obligation, and everything you share is confidential.

Is my consultation confidential?

Always. Information provided for the purpose of seeking legal advice is confidential and protected by attorney-client privilege, even if we do not move forward with representation.

 What happens after our consultation?

You will leave your consultation with answers to your questions and clear guidance on the legal framework applicable to your situation. In general, a consultation is a one-time meeting and unless we sign a written agreement retaining our firm to represent you, no further action will be taken. A follow-up call may be scheduled if more information is needed. We may also refer you to other resources, such as the Michigan State Bar or the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission. If AMG Legal takes on your case, next steps will be discussed at the consultation.
